When an answer to a divorce complaint is filed and it includes an unresolved issue, the parties shall participate in at least one session of mediation. 

The mediation process requires all parties to feel safe and comfortable when sharing their opinions. If a party does not feel able to do so, they may call the Divorce Mediation Help Line at 1-800-620-6318 for more options. 

If a party lives out of state, or is unable to attend for other reasons, parties may contact a mediator to discuss alternative meeting options, online or by phone.
